• Fantastic meat, Fantastic service

  Hazel, you either aren't visiting the Hawkins that I go to or you are from a jealous rival. Paul, the owner, and all his staff are always welcoming, ready to impart advice on meat, recipes and cooking and sell fantastic meat at good prices. Not as cheap as supermarkets but the meat is in a whole different ballpark for quality. I suggest you try their Rush Green sausages (cracked black pepper) or any of their BBQ gear. You will never buy mass produced rubbish again from a supermarket.

  I have been using Hawkins Butchers for years and have just read the review by Hazel and think she must be reviewing the wrong butchers!!!!!!!! Their home made sausages are the best I have ever tasted, I have always found the meat to be top quality and fresh, and the staff are friendly and knowledgable; and I would recommend them to anyone.

• worse meat ever

  Everytime I go to romford and buy my meat the steak is always off, the chickens are nice but you need to eat them straight away otherwise they go off, the sausages are vile, they say they put steak in their mince don't believe it.
